Academics
Our teaching covers the automated acquisition, processing and analysis of digital behavioral data for the investigation of socio-technical issues.
Students learn, for example, how data can be extracted from programming interfaces and websites and which quantitative methods are suitable for the use of heterogeneous data formats (text, image, video, audio).
In addition, we discuss topics such as research ethics and specific research designs.
For students
We have compiled a collection of guidelines for assignments submitted at our chair. We advise you to read this information in advance, as the expectations at other chairs at the Department of Sociology may well differ.
